Mix the dry ingredients. nvite children to measure the flour and salt and place them in a mixing bowl. Add oregano and black pepper.
Make the dough. Add the oil and water. Mix carefully until the ingredients come together into a soft dough.
Knead the dough. Place the dough on a clean surface and let children gently knead it using their hands. Encourage them to notice how the dough changes as they work with it.
Let the dough rest. Cover the dough and allow it to rest for about 10 minutes.
Roll the dough. Give children a rolling pin and invite them to roll the dough into a large, thin tortilla-like circle.
Cut into strips. With adult guidance, cut the flattened dough into long, thin strips.
Twist the rolls. Take two strips at a time and gently twist them together.
Brush with oil. Use a pastry brush to lightly coat the tops with oil.
Bake with adult help. Place the rolls on a lined baking sheet. An adult should place the tray in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven and bake for 12–14 minutes, or until the rolls are lightly golden and crispy.
Cool and enjoy. Allow the rolls to cool before serving. Children can proudly enjoy the snack they helped prepare.
