Ingredients
  

  • 1 slice slice sandwich bread
  • 2 tbsp teaspoons softened butter
  • 1 tbsp tablespoon cooked corn kernels
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • A pinch of chili flakes (optional, adult-approved)
  • 2 tbsp tablespoons shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 1 tsp teaspoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

Equipment

  • 1 butter knife Child-safe
  • 1 Small bowl for corn
  • 1 Measuring spoon
  • 1 Microwave-safe plate
  • 1 Microwave with adult supervision

Method
 

  1. Prepare the bread: Place the bread slice on a plate. Use a child-safe knife to gently spread butter across the surface.
  2. Add the corn: Spoon the corn kernels onto the bread and spread them evenly using slow, careful movements.
  3. Season with care: Sprinkle a small pinch of black pepper and chili flakes (if using). Encourage light sprinkling and control.
  4. Add the cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top, covering the corn evenly.
  5. Finish with parsley: Gently sprinkle chopped parsley to add color and freshness.
  6. Microwave with help: With adult supervision, place the plate in the microwave and heat for 20–30 seconds until the cheese melts.
  7. Cool and enjoy: Let the toast cool slightly, then enjoy your warm, homemade snack!
